-For all the people waiting for this topic to appear, I was timing to let this be my exact 1000th post. -
Hawthorn Hall Greetings, fellow scholars! Hawthorn Hall has opened its doors for all to enjoy! Hawthorn Hall is a tribute to the scholars of Elder Scrolls lore. Actually, this mod is a kind of digital representation of the Lore forum, here at our beloved official Elder Scrolls boards. The visitor - be it a true lore master or a layman will find a comfortable lounge, where the scholars discuss their theories, an astronomy tower, a library, a study hall, an auditorium, a meeting-room, a cliffside terrace and more. And, since this is a 'digital representation' of the lore forum, it wouldn't be complete without its scholars. No less than 37 frequent visitors of the lore forum have made a character for this mod. All of these characters have their own field(s) of study and many have particular quirks too. Learn from them and -sometimes- laugh at them. List of people who have a character: -Eidolon-Adriaan-Adanorcil (myself)-Aki-Arynel-Azura's Star-B-coolpkmn-cow_guru-dentris-Derufuburade-Hand of Sotha-Hells gardener-Lord Sephirus- Luagar-Lunatic1700-ManaUser-MC_Stalker-Mehrunes Dagon-Morrowind_megafreak04-Nalion-Nicholie-Nordic_bandit-Proweler-Rabish12-Raithen-Rogue_shadow-Rosenphelia Godot-Runi-Sjvan-Skald-Swrdphantom-Teleran-TSBasilisk-WKinkade-Xanathar Hawthorn Hall can be found on an island south of Castle Ebonheart. It can be accessed by means of a ferry that will take you there( in real time). Sera Beras Gilnith has kindly agreed to carry all visitors for Hawthorn across the water, without asking for any kind of reward. (More information can be found in the ReadMe.) For more information, you can look at the first post of this topic. (You can also find the descriptions of virtaually all characters, should you be interested.) Hawthorn Hall at Morrowind Summit (I know, I had announced it to be at tes4.com.) Enjoy! Please post your questions or comments right here. Sounds very cool. I have not checked out the Lore forum much, but this sounds like a fun mod.

There were 3 screenies in the download link ... thank you ... it looks very nice. Always good to see Forum people (or would that be 'characters') in a mod .

I love this type of mod--with forum members as characters--and from the screenies the hall looks stylish. Downloading now, and thank you for making this!

for some reason I've never been able to get that site to work, it keeps asking me to login, and when I do it sends me back to the login page. R -------------------- You cannot conquer what you will not face.

Neat! I see you added my character, Adanorcil.
A few thoughts... The design of Hawthorn Hall was good overall, and the only problem I encountered was a slowdown inside. Alot of things/people at one place, I guess. You also heard the fizzing of the centurion all the time. I really like what you did with the ferry raft. Actually watching you riding it across the water was nice for a change. The different sections of the library was cool as well. If you ever updates Hawthorn Hall, these are some small changes that I think would fit great: *You may want to expand the dialogue options of the characters. Some characters only have the basic of dialogue option. *I would also want to see more things to do in Hawthorn Hall. Something that would bring even more life to the place. Perhaps a shop, an alchemy lab or a dungeon underneath. Anyway, keep up the good work! |

Okay, I've arrived at the Hawthorn Hall.
First impression: GREAT Ferry! Nice hall. But, too many people in one cell, it makes my beloved outdated machine crawls. Then, I talked with Silver, and got a nice description of many people in the hall, and then I asked about B, and then all the words with B, got link to the B. Heh heh. Perhaps you and B can discuss a little bit about the naming. By using "B" perhaps? And, I agree with Skald, some characters need dialog, so it would not be " Ee e e Nerevarine, blah blah...." Btw, I love that centurion... CLANG CLANG... and flying Dreugh!! -------------------- ~Xayah Ayem Neht

Thanks for all the positive reactions here!
- The FPS drop: I know about this. I was planning on splitting the cell, but Alvirdimus was faster than me. If I recieve it, I'll put it up as soon as possible, as a "light version." -FilePlanet: Sorry about this. As I said, I had uploaded it to tes4.com and no offense, but it seemed to take forever. I noticed there were 64 mods awaiting validation and none had been uploaded in the last week or more. - B: I noticed this too. But a) there's practically nothing to prevent it and I actually found it rather amusing. Maybe I can ask B to, in this mod, write his name as the old "Behlorien"? - Credit to Carnithus: Indeed I forgot. I'll PM him with my apologies and add it in the next version. - The dialogue: Well, the people of the forums are to blame for that. I didn't have time to make dialogue for everyone in particular. Most just did it on their own. (I forgot to give Adanorcil dialogue too.) - The Steam Centurion and Dreugh making noise: Next time, I'll tell them to be quiet. - Future expansion: This is likely. I was thinking about a laboratory. Once again, the only one you need to thank for the ferry is ManaUser. I hold true to my motto: QUOTE I couldn't script a Cliff Racer to attack me. -------------------- |

This is a great work, Adanorcil! I really like the Hall and the characters there, gave me some great laughs also: Stalker permanently running against a wall (in my game), Samuel the flying Dreugh, the ghostly Yasur and all the other scholars running around. The ferry is just cool and I like the cliffs and the whole location the Hall is in.
Aside from a little laggy performance now and then (but I had no real problems with it), I found that those people standing on the inner balcony (where Samuel is located), tend to block the way sometimes, but that's also a minor issue to me. I like how you sorted the library books, nice for study. If you update your hall, drop me a PM if you wish, I might come up with a bit more dialogue for my character by then. |

it would be really cool if you do an update, if you do PM me for some dialogue (since mine is lost in the mod) and can you include the daggerfall books then since that would be really cool.
